A One Week Women's Retreat and Celebration With Sofia Diaz.

One week of Radical Replenishment through Practice. We will alternate between high relational demand and silent, subjectively oriented days of practice with the intent of heightening each of our toe to crown Communion with the all-pervading current of spiritual wisdom that is our lives.

When the body is opened to the natural current of bliss upon which it exists even a breath is a gracious celebration that serves all beings. All we need to do in the radically replenishing environment of Crestone is slow down and relearn to see smell and touch the profound beauty that always already IS us. In the company of great women soul relieving honesty and hug-full living becomes our very nature and community is no longer an idea but the heart-smile trust of our entire being.

We are so very fortunate to have the opportunity to tussle with the great matter of how to live and die graciously into each moment. This week-long retreat is guaranteed to be a years-long revolution and revelation. Let's bring our best into our world unabashedly once we have celebrated it thoroughly in each other in this precious environment of practice in Crestone.

Fees:

A deposit of $650 is due by June 15th, to reserve your space.
The balance is due July 15th, 2008.

Full-time Students: $100 off deposit.

Notes:

Fees include tuition for the week retreat, all lodging : Includes amazing meals & the hot springs. This event has filled up quickly in the past years; registration will be conducted on first come first served basis. Register early to reserve your space.

Before June 15th, 2008, $200 processing fee subtracted. No refund after June 15th.

Late payments policies:

No late payments are considered, you WILL lose your space and your total deposit. Your payments need to be received BEFORE due dates (please put the dates and amounts due in your calendar to remind your self).

Please bring celebratory clothing that you can comfortably move in, your yoga mat, note book & a water bottle.

About the location:

In Crestone, the stillness and vibrancy of nature becomes as obvious as the nature of our bodies. Crestone is situated in a very sacred valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains honored by the Native Americans indigenous to this area. It is home to many spiritual centers, and is a very powerful place for healing, transformation & regeneration. At the elevation of eight thousand feet the air is thinner & the sun brighter, with occasional afternoon showers. We suggest you bring a hat, sunscreen, moisturizing cream & layered comfortable clothing. Also bring a jacket for cool evenings of stargazing & a bathing suit for the hot springs. Bring ceremonial & celebratory clothes to dance in & please do not forget to bring your Yoga Mat (it will not be provided).

Travel Notes:

The closest airports to Crestone are Albuquerque and Denver. Both are a 4.5 hours drive to Crestone.

About the Instructor

Sofia Diaz is a gifted teacher of Hatha yoga, sacred movement and feminine spiritual practice, deriving her style of teaching and body philosophy from the south temple arts and their accompanying scriptures. Along with 23 years of intensive study and daily practice of several traditions of yoga, she has apprenticed since 1982, to the dance and music masters of the Balasaraswati lineage of the sacred dance, Bharata Natyam.

She holds a Bachelors Degree in dance from Mills College in Oakland, California, and a Masters Degree in religious studies from the University of Colorado. She has most recently taught at the Department of Somatic Psychology at Naropa University and the University of Colorado in Boulder. Sofia has also founded a school of Hatha Yoga and sacred movement arts in Boulder Colorado.

She has published writings on yoga and sacred movement in both academic and popular journals and travels frequently, teaching women's yoga intensives throughout the world.
